Big Rig Collision near Gates Road Left 1 Man Dead, 2 Others Injured
MODESTO, CA (June 20, 2023) – Early Thursday, a man died while Gerardo Reyes and Marie Reyes were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 132.
The incident happened at around 2:40 a.m., on eastbound Highway 132 near Gates Road.
According to reports, a Nissan pickup drove the wrong way onto the road and crashed head-on into a big rig.
Emergency crews arrived to the site of the collision shortly after. There, paramedics pronounced the unidentified Nissan driver dead at the scene, due to the extent of his condition.
Meanwhile, the big rig driver, 32-year-old Gerardo Reyes, and his passenger, 33-year-old Maria Reyes suffered minor injuries.
At this time, officials have withheld the name of the deceased victim and have no further details of the cause of the collision.
Modesto authorities asked those with information to contact local authorities as soon as possible.
