Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near 5 Freeway
SANTA CLARITA, CA (June 19, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Lyons Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:54 a.m., along Lyons Avenue and the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway.
Upon arrival, police determined that a white Ford collided with a pedestrian. However, the cause of the collision remains unknown.
First responders declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from their next of kin.
Authorities eventually closed down the northbound lanes in the 5 Freeway as crews investigated the accident.
