50-Year-Old Man Killed in Bicycle Accident near D Street
OAKLAND, CA (June 15, 2023) – Wednesday evening, Carlos Smith was killed by a hit-and-run driver on 98th Avenue.
The fatal collision occurred around 9:19 p.m. at the intersection of 98th and D Street in the city of Oakland.
According to the victim’s relatives, the bicyclist was going to a store to buy some pet food when the crash happened.
Police said the driver did not render aid to the victim and fled the scene before the authorities arrived.
Unfortunately, 50-year-old Carlos Smith succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Authorities can only determine that the suspect was driving a white vehicle with an unknown make or model.
