Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash near 7th Street
SAN JACINTO, CA (June 14, 2023) – Early Monday, a deadly-hit-and-run collision along San Jacinto Avenue led to the arrest of Juan Carlos Rodriguez Salgado.
The deadly incident happened on May 1st, at around 4:00 a.m. in the middle block of San Jacinto Avenue, near 7th Street.
According to the report, a man driving and traveling at an undetermined amount of speed approached Seventh Street.
Investigators said the driver then ran over a pedestrian walking on the street. A witness spotted the male victim lying on the street with severe injuries and signaled a passing patrol vehicle.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene despite the life-saving efforts of the first responders. The deceased victim’s identity remains undisclosed, pending notification from the family.
Eventually, authorities managed to locate the driver several blocks away from the site of the incident.
Police arrested and booked 32-year-old Juan Carlos Rodriguez Salgado into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
