Hit-and-Run Crash Near El Dorado Road Kills 16-Year-Old Pedestrian
PLACERVILLE, CA (June 13, 2023) – Monday morning, Josiah Strayner lost his life in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 50.
The collision happened around 3:00 a.m. on westbound Highway 50, just past El Dorado Road.
Based on the initial investigation, a driver of a 2008-2012 white Honda Accord hit the pedestrian for unknown reasons and kept driving.
Responding officials located the victim’s body at the center median. Unfortunately, the victim later succumbed to his injuries at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
Later, the Sacramento County Coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as 16-year-old Josiah Stayner.
At this time, the CHP Placerville Officials are working to determine the location of the suspect. Investigators said the suspect’s vehicle possibly have front-end damage and a missing side mirror.
The family of Stayner created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
