27-Year-Old Man Arrested after DUI Accident near Johnson Street

VISALIA, CA (May 31, 2023) – Late Saturday night, Javier Diaz was arrested after a DUI collision on Murray Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m., between Willis And Johnson Street.  

Per reports, Diaz was driving westbound on Murray when he rear-ended another car. Both vehicles then crashed into a home and struck a power line. As a result, electrical lines knocked down and caused a power outage.

Medical personnel arrived and transported both drivers to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Following preliminary duties, officers arrested and booked 27-year-old Diaz into the Tulare County Jail for felony DUI.

Authorities said that the power was expected to be restored the next day around 10:30 a.m. Police are asking anyone with additional information about the Murray Avenue DUI crash to contact Visalia Officials as soon as possible.
