DUI Suspected after a Wrong-Way Collision that Left 2 People Hurt

GREEN VALLEY, AZ (May 1, 2023) – Tuesday evening, two people were injured following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 19.

The incident happened on April 18th, at around 9:00 p.m., in the southbound lanes of Interstate 19.

According to reports, the incident first started when a vehicle passing the checkpoint on Interstate 19 was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.

Deputies tailed the driver until the vehicle collided with two other vehicles traveling southbound at kilometer 63.

As a result, one person from the involved vehicles and the suspect suffered injuries. Medics transported the victims to a local hospital for treatment.

Following the collision, the officers suspected DUI as a factor in the incident.

At this time, officials have not released the condition of the victim. Further investigation is still underway.
