Semi-Truck Versus Pedestrian Collision near Jackson Street Left 40-Year-Old Thermal Woman Dead
INDIO, CA (April 27, 2023) – Monday night, a pedestrian crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 10 claimed the life of Blanca Quevedo.
The fatal collision happened on Monday at around 10:00 p.m. along the eastbound I-10 near Jackson Street in the city of Indio.
Based on the report, fire units from the Riverside County Fire Department responded to a call about a woman getting hit by a vehicle.
Unfortunately, the first responders declared the woman dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the driver cooperated with the authorities.
The California Highway Patrol Indio Office is investigating the circumstances that led up to the incident.
In addition, the incident prompted the closure of three lanes following a SigAlert. Officials merged the traffic into the left shoulder median to pass the site of the crash.
On Tuesday, the Riverside County coroner’s office identified the deceased female pedestrian as 40-year-old Blanca Quevedo of Thermal. The coroner’s office added that Quevedo was injured at 10:04 p.m. and died from her injuries at 10:15 p.m. Monday.
