Woman Critically Injured in Road Rage Four-Vehicle Collision near Topeka Drive

PHOENIX, AZ (April 27, 2023) – Early Tuesday night, four victims sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on 51st Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene just after 5:30 p.m., near Topeka Drive on April 18th.

Following preliminary duties, officers determined that an SUV and a truck engaged in road rage while heading south on 51st Avenue. The SUV driver then lost control of his vehicle and slammed into oncoming traffic.

As a result, a female passenger inside another vehicle was struck by the SUV. Paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital with serious wounds.

Moreover, crews took three others to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, both the juvenile and the SUV driver remained at the scene to be evaluated. They both showed no signs of impairment.

At this time, it was unknown if there were arrests made and an active investigation is still underway.
