Hit-and-Run Collision near Crossroads Parkway Left 12-Year-Old Girl Dead

INDUSTRY COUNTY, CA (April 25, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a multiple-vehicle wrong-way crash on 60 Freeway claimed the life of Angelique Zarate.

The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. According to police, the initial crash occurred on March 22nd when an unidentified driver of a Hyundai Sedan collided with a big rig and fled the scene.

The suspect continued eastbound in the westbound lane before causing a five-vehicle wrong-way collision.

The suspect then escaped the crash scene on foot and is still at large.

Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced Angelique Zarate, a 12-year-old passenger in another vehicle involved in the second crash, dead on the scene.

Another person, Rafael Zarate sustained injuries from the crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment. His current condition is still unknown.
