Reckless Driver Causes the Death of a 21-Year-Old Man in Accident near I-10

PHOENIX, AZ (April 23, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Neiva Bejarano Zavala was killed following a multi-vehicle collision.

The incident happened on April 16th at around 2:30 a.m. on 51st Avenue near Interstate 10 and the I-10 overpass.

According to the police, a vehicle traveling eastbound on 51st Avenue off-ramp ran over a red light and slammed the vehicle of 21-year-old Zavala heading south.

Consequently, both of the vehicles continued to drive and crashed into a third and fourth vehicle.

Furthermore, the reckless vehicle had one person injured and a passenger of Zavala suffered serious injuries.

Unfortunately, Zavala died at the scene due to his injuries and also one occupant of the third vehicle was injured.

No additional information was released by the investigators and the crash is still under investigation.
