Motorcycle Crash Near Venice Boulevard Kills 30-Year-Old Los Angeles Man

CULVER CITY, CA (April 11, 2023) – Sunday morning, a motorcycle-auto collision along the San Diego (405) Freeway claimed the life of Brian Carlton. 

CHP and Culver City Fire responded to the incident around 12:56 a.m. along the northbound 405, just south of Venice Boulevard. 

Upon arrival, officials learned that a motorcyclist collided with another vehicle, ejecting the rider from the motorcycle. 

At the same time, the other vehicle caught on fire. Reports said the driver managed to exit the vehicle without injuries. 

At around 1:07 a.m., authorities declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Later, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified the deceased rider as 30-year-old Brian Carlton of Los Angeles. 

In the end, officials issued a SigAlert to close down all northbound lanes of 405 Freeway and to divert traffic into Washington Boulevard. All lanes reopened around 4:30 a.m.

Culver City Officials continue to investigate the reason behind the fatal motorcycle-auto collision.
