Officer Injured after Crash on Highway 580 [Castro Valley, CA]
Deputy Involved in Vehicle Accident near 164th Avenue
CASTRO VALLEY, CA (March 31, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, an officer was involved in a vehicle crash on Highway 580.
The incident occurred on February 7th, shortly after 12:30 p.m.
According to reports, a police cruiser traveling on the westbound lane of Interstate 580 was involved in a crash. Emergency crews responded to the site of the crash, just west of Highway 238, near 164th Avenue.
Medics then transported the deputy involved in the collision to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the collision, crews closed down one lane of westbound Interstate 580 and the Foothill Boulevard on-ramp for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, no additional information regarding the crash on Highway 580 was released. However, further investigation is currently underway.
