Driver Pronounced Dead after Multi-Car Collision near Brannan Island Road

RIO VISTA, CA (March 17, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, one driver was pronounced dead after a three-vehicle accident on Highway 160. 

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:00 p.m., near Brannan Island Road.

Per reports, the driver of a Nissan sedan swerved left and struck a box-truck. The sedan then continued traveling north on the southbound lanes where it was hit by a Ford pickup-truck.

First responders located the Nissan driver experiencing major head injuries and having difficulty breathing. Due to the extent of their condition, medics later pronounced the severely injured victim dead at the scene.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided.
