Richard Helmle Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident near White Feather Road
JOSHUA TREE, CA (March 14, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, Linden Ralph Burke died in a pedestrian crash on Twentynine Palms Highway.
The incident occurred on March 4th, at around 5:00 a.m., near White Feather Road on Twentynine Palms Highway.
According to reports, Burke was walking east on the westbound lanes for reasons unknown. Shortly after, the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche struck the pedestrian.
The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as 43-year-old Richard Helmle. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
Despite life-saving efforts, 81-year-old Linden Ralph Burke was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, crews determined that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the incident. At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
