72-Year-Old Bakersfield Man Killed in Pedestrian-Auto Collision near Wible Road
BAKERSFIELD. CA (March 15, 2023) – Monday morning, a pedestrian accident on Harris Road claimed the life of Stephen Wayne Stith.
Officers responded to the fatality around 6:16 a.m. at the intersection of Harris Road near the auto mall, just east of Wible Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim lying on the road with multiple serious injuries.
According to the investigators, an eastbound vehicle hit the pedestrian crossing the street.
Responding medical personnel eventually arrived and declared 72-year-old Stephen Wayne Stith dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway were briefly shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
