Pedestrian Killed in Recycling Truck Accident on South Las Posas Road [San Marcos, CA]
One Dead Following Pedestrian Versus Truck Collision at EDCO Recycling Buyback Center
SAN MARCOS, CA (March 14, 2023) – Late Friday morning, a pedestrian accident on South Las Posas Road left one person dead.
The fatal incident happened at around 11:58 a.m. at the 200 block of South Las Posas Road at the EDCO Recycling Buyback Center.
According to reports, the driver of the recycling truck hit the pedestrian while backing into the scales at the center.
First responders to the crash declared the victim dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed, pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, the truck driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators. OSHA will not investigate the incident as the deceased person was not an employee at the facility.
