Chris Larges Hospitalized, One Dead Following Accident on Highway 99 [Butte County, CA]
52-Year-Old Woman Dead after Traffic Collision near Cana Highway
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (March 13, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Chris Larges was hospitalized and a woman died following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 99.
The incident happened on March 7th at around 3:00 p.m. on State Route 99, just north of Cana Highway.
According to CHP Officer Frank Valdepena, a silver Toyota sedan driven by a 52-year-old female was traveling north when she veered off the road for unknown reasons.
Consequently, the Toyota went to the southbound lanes and crashed on the side of a semi-trailer. The incident caused a chain reaction where two other vehicles were involved.
Furthermore, the two other vehicles were a red Toyota pickup and a silver Honda. The red Toyota rolled over multiple times.
As a result, the drivers of the red pickup, identified as 52-year-old Larges, and the semi-trailer suffered moderate injuries while the Honda driver did not obtain any injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities transported the female driver of the Toyota to Enloe Medical Center where she later died due to the extent of her injuries.
An active investigation is underway at this time.
