Woman Pronounced Dead after Four-Vehicle Accident near Thomas Road
PHOENIX, AZ (March 8, 2023) – Thursday evening, a woman was killed in a rear-end collision on Interstate 17.
The incident happened on March 2nd, just before 10:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway between Thomas Road and Indian School Road.
Investigation showed that an Acura driven by an impaired driver rear-ended a Kia driven by a woman. The impact of the collision caused the woman to be trapped in her vehicle and she had to be extricated.
After extricating her from the wreck, emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene, due to the extent of her injuries.
Furthermore, the impaired driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Another involved driver also suffered minor injuries.
