Hit-and-Run Crash near Narragansett Avenue Left 17-Year-Old Boy Injured

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 8, 2023) – Friday evening, a hit-and-run collision on Catalina Boulevard left a boy on an electric bicycle injured. 

Officers responded to the incident around 6:28 p.m. at the 1800 block of Catalina Boulevard and Narragansett Avenue. 

Upon arrival, a 17-year-old boy was riding his bicycle northbound of Catalina on a green light before yielding to turn east.

However, an unknown vehicle traveling southbound struck the teenager from behind as the boy prepared to turn east of Narragansett. 

Authorities said the driver did not render aid to the victim and fled the scene going southbound on 1700 Catalina Boulevard. First responders quickly transported the boy to a nearby hospital for a serious pelvic injury. 

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
