Cameron Curtis Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on Calliandra Street [Palm Desert, CA]
Pedestrian Crash near Alamo Drive Leads to Arrest of 31-Year-Old High School Football Coach
PALM DESERT, CA (March 7, 2023) – Saturday evening, police arrested 31-year-old Cameron Curtis after a fatal DUI Crash on Calliandra Street.
The collision occurred around 6:09 p.m. near Alamo Drive in Palm Desert.
According to the investigators, a gray Nissan Frontier going east of Calliandra struck a female pedestrian walking in the area.
Unfortunately, responding medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. However, the authorities have not revealed her identity until they notify the next of kin.
Meanwhile, officers detained the driver, Cameron Curtis, and booked him in John Benoit Detention Center for suspected DUI and manslaughter.
The Desert Sands Unified School District confirmed that Curtis was an employee of the district and coached the 2022 Palm Desert High School varsity football team.
