90-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Car Accident near Palo Verde Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (March 1, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a car crash on Spring Street claimed the life of an elderly woman. 

Officers responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m., near Palo Verde Avenue in the city of Long Beach. 

According to the report, a speeding 2007 Lincoln Continental drove through a parking lot at the 6400 block of East Spring Street. 

Subsequently, the Lincoln struck four parked vehicles, sending two vehicles to hit a 68-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy. 

The woman’s vehicle eventually stopped after it struck a tree at the 2900 block of Palp Verde Avenue. 

Firefighters arrived and extricated the woman from the Lincoln, and transported her to a hospital. 

However, the 90-year-old woman later died from her injuries. Her identity remains undisclosed pending notification from the next of kin. 

Meanwhile, the 68-year-old man was hospitalized for serious injuries. The 10-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.
