Car Collision near Ottawa Street Left 19-Year-Old Driver Dead

VICTORVILLE, CA (February 28, 2023) – Saturday night, Abraham Hinojosa-Mercado was killed in a two-vehicle crash at a Victorville Intersection. 

Deputies responded to the incident around 10:01 at the intersection of Hesperia Road and Ottawa Street. 

Upon arrival, authorities declared one of the drivers, identified as 19-year-old Abraham Hinojosa-Mercado, dead at the scene. 

According to the investigators, a northbound silver Nissan Sentra driven by Hinojosa-Mercado lost control after passing the intersection of Ottawa Street. 

Subsequently, the Nissan collided with a white Nissan Altima going south on Hesperia Road. 

The driver of the Altima, identified as 32-year-old Jose Gonzalez of Victorville, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. 

In the end, Officials closed the north and southbound lanes of Hesperia Road, between Green Tree Boulevard and Nisqualli Road to investigate.
