Pedestrian Accident near Buchanan Street Left Man Dead
MECCA, CA (February 20, 2023) – Sunday evening, a pedestrian crash on 62nd Avenue claimed the life of a man.
The incident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection near Buchanan Street, north of Highway 86 and Highway 111 overpass.
According to reports, a Nissan Altima going westbound hit a man walking in the westbound lanes of 62nd Avenue. Investigators said the man was “walking in front of the Nissan’s pathway” for unknown reasons.
The impact of the collision threw the pedestrian, causing him to hit the asphalt road.
Officials pronounced the man died at the scene due to blunt force injuries. However, the deceased victim’s identity remains undisclosed pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, the Altima received significant damages in the front bumper and windshield. The condition of the driver was not stated.
