Pedestrian vs Vehicle Accident on Southbound Highway 87 Resulted in Fatality
SAN JOSE, CA (February 23, 2023) – Sunday morning, a person died after a pedestrian-auto collision on Highway 87.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened around 4:50 a.m., south of Curtner Avenue.
Investigators claimed that a vehicle going south of Highway 87 hit the pedestrian for unknown reasons.
Unfortunately, the person sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public pending notification from the next of kin.
Authorities said the involved motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Moreover, a portion of the roadway was briefly closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
