Officer Hospitalized Following Head-On Collision on Indian School Road [Phoenix, AZ]
Two Injured after Two-Vehicle Accident near Loop 101
PHOENIX, AZ (February 13, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, two occupants were injured in a head-on collision on Indian School Road.
It happened just after 3:15 a.m., February 9th, just east of Loop 101 near Scottsdale.
According to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Police Department, a deputy driving along Loop 101 collided head-on with another vehicle.
Investigation showed that the other vehicle crossed the center line which caused the collision.
Furthermore, the driver and the officer both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Consequently, DUI is suspected as a factor in the crash. Police suspected that the driver was impaired at the time.
Meanwhile, Indian School Road from Loop 101 to Dobson Road was blocked during the length of the investigation but has since been reopened.
No other information was released and further investigation is still underway.
