Yoselin Martinez Dies in Head-On Collision on Avenue G [Yuma County, AZ]
31-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Collision near County 13th Street
YUMA COUNTY, AZ (February 10, 2023) – Monday morning, Yoselin Martinez was fatally struck in a head-on collision on Avenue G.
Police received dispatch calls shortly after 7:00 a.m., in the 12700 block of Avenue G near County 13th Street.
According to reports, the driver of a brown 2002 Toyota Tacoma was heading north on Avenue G while a silver 2013 Nissan Altima was heading south.
For reasons under investigation, the Tacoma driver crossed over the center line and struck the Nissan head-on. The driver of the Nissan, 31-year-old Martinez, of Somerton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported a child passenger inside the Nissan to Yuma Regional Medical Center with minor wounds. In addition, crews took the driver and one passenger from the Tacoma to a nearby hospital.
Following preliminary duties, officers believe that alcohol played a factor. Although, no further details have been provided.
