Male Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Collision near Union Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 10, 2023) – Early Tuesday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Highway 178.
Officers responded to the scene around 5:56 p.m., near Union Avenue just east of Niles Street.
Upon arrival, units discovered the deceased victim’s body lying on the roadway. However, his identity remains undisclosed at this time.
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The circumstances that led up to the incident continue to be under investigation.
Ultimately, the California Highway Patrol closed the third lane of westbound Highway 178 for an hour and a half.
