Miguel Ornelas Campos Killed in Red Light Crash on 75th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
25-Year-Old Driver Dies in Multi-Vehicle Collision near Thomas Road
PHOENIX, AZ (February 8, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Miguel Ornelas Campos was killed in a red light crash on 75th Avenue.
The incident took place near the intersection of 75th Avenue and Thomas Road around 3:00 p.m., on February 3rd.
Per reports, the male driver of a speeding vehicle ran a red light while heading west on Thomas Road.
As a result, the speeding vehicle struck another car that was attempting to make a left turn onto 75th Avenue. The driver of the vehicle that was hit, 25-year-old Campos, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, medics transported the occupants inside the speeding car to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Although, authorities have not yet released their identities.
Investigators also say the engine inside Campos’ vehicle flew out and hit a third car that was heading west on Thomas Road. A nearby male pedestrian was then struck by the debris and taken to a local hospital.
