53-Year-Old Homeless Man Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Calvine Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 7, 2023) – Thursday evening, a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 claimed the life of Amarjit Sanghera, of Elk Grove.
The incident happened February 2nd, at around 7:00 p.m. near Calvine Road.
According to reports, Sanghera crossed the northbound lanes of Highway 99, and was in the process of crossing the southbound lanes when he was struck by a 2016 Honda. Following the collision with the Honda, Sanghera was struck again by a 2016 Chrysler. The impact of the crashes caused the victim to sustain fatal injuries.
Emergency crews to the scene pronounced 53-year-old Amarjit Sanghera, of Elk Grove, dead due to the extent of his condition.
The two drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Investigators later reported that the man was homeless, and wearing dark clothing, making him harder to see.
