Woman Killed, Roxanne Fitzsimmons Injured in Head-On Crash on State Route 49 [Grass Valley, CA]
Two-Vehicle Collision near La Barr Meadows Road Left 83-Year-Old Woman Dead
GRASS VALLEY, CA (February 1, 2023) – Wednesday evening, a head-on crash on State Route 49 left one woman dead and Roxanne Fitzsimmons injured.
The incident happened just after 5:45 p.m. near La Barr Meadows Road in Grass Valley.
According to reports, an 83-year-old woman was driving southbound on State Route 49, when her vehicle collided with Fitzsimmon’s vehicle near the intersection. The impact of the collision left the 83-year-old driver and 70-year-old Roxanne Fitzsimmons’ with serious injuries.
First responders arrived shortly after and pronounced the 83-year-old female driver from Fair Oaks dead at the scene. However, her name remains undisclosed pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other driver, 70-year-old Roxanne Fitzsimmons, to a local hospital for minor injuries.
