57-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead After Vehicle Collision near 6th Street
FRESNO, CA (January 26, 2023) – Friday evening, a car accident on Ventura Avenue claimed the life of Robert Silva.
The incident happened on January 20th at around 7:30 pm in the area of Ventura Avenue and 6th Street.
According to the Fresno Police Department, a driver and 57-year-old Silva had a physical altercation at a nearby business.
Furthermore, due to the heat of the argument, the other driver got to his vehicle and drove recklessly.
Witnesses told the police that the driver was doing donuts and eventually hit Silva, and pinned him under the vehicle.
Consequently, officers arrived at the scene to extricate Silva and life-saving efforts were performed on him but he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Police have suspected alcohol as a factor in the incident.
The driver may face vehicular manslaughter charges, the police added. Further investigation is underway.
