26-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Five-Car Collision near Owens Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 27, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Moises Martinez was killed in a 5-vehicle speeding crash on Civic Center Drive.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:00 a.m., near Owens Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of northbound Silver Hyundai was speeding and collided with a westbound white truck that was also traveling through the intersection. Upon impact, the white truck was pushed into several other vehicles, including a Ford Mustang.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai continued traveling north on Owens before coming to a stop near the intersection.

First responders pronounced one person inside the Mustang dead at the scene. The coroner’s office later identified the deceased victim as 26-year-old Martinez. In addition, crews transported two other occupants to UMC for further treatment of serious injuries.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided.
