47-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near Jack Rabbit Trail

BEAUMONT, CA (January 26, 2023) – Friday evening, Gina Marie Herrera was killed in a multi-car collision on the 60 Freeway.

The incident happened around 10:20 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of Moreno Valley (60) Freeway near Jack Rabbit Trail.

Per reports, the driver of a westbound Honda Civic was traveling in the No. 2 lane and collided with a Cadillac CTS in the fast lane.

Upon impact, the Honda was pushed into the oncoming lanes where an eastbound Kia Niro struck the passenger side of the Honda.

Responding medical personnel declared the Honda Civic driver dead at the scene due to the extent of their injuries. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 47-year-old Herrera of Westminster, Colorado. 

Meanwhile, the Riverside County Fire units extricated the 44-year-old female Kia driver and transported her to Riverside University Medical Center for further treatment. The Kia driver remained in serious condition as of Monday. 

Moreover, the driver of the Cadillac did not sustain any injuries. At this time, the CHP is working to determine further circumstances surrounding the 60 Freeway three-vehicle crash.
