22-Year-Old Marine Dies in Multi-Vehicle Motorcycle Crash near State Route 56

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 25, 2023) – Friday night, Dominic Joseph Vance was pronounced dead after a motorcycle collision on Interstate 15.

Police responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m., just south of State Route 56 on January 13th.

According to police, 22-year-old Vance was riding his motorcycle south when he collided with a Scion sedan. As a result, Vance was ejected from his motorcycle and responding officers pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Furthermore, police have stated that Vance was currently stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Also, the crash resulted in a chain reaction and involved other drivers. The southbound lanes of I-15 were blocked for 5 hours until it was reopened.

Consequently, authorities will release additional information as it becomes available to the public, an active investigation is currently ongoing.
