65-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash near Standiford Avenue

MODESTO, CA (January 23, 2023) – Tuesday night, Michael Russ was arrested after fatally striking a woman in a hit-and-run on Prescott Road.

Officers responded to the scene around 9:45 p.m., just south of Standiford Avenue.

Per reports, the driver of a GMC Yukon struck a woman who was walking across Prescott Road. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

Responding authorities declared the 65-year-old female pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released her identity.

Following preliminary duties, officers arrested 60-year-old Michael Russ, of Modesto and charged him with vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, and DUI.
