SUV Collision near Las Virgenes Road Resulted in Fatality
CALABASAS, CA (January 19, 2023) – Monday night, a two-vehicle accident on 101 Freeway claimed one person’s life and left another two injured.
The incident happened just after 9:00 p.m., near Las Virgenes Road along the 101 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two SUVs collided for unknown reasons. Upon impact, one of the vehicles hit the center median and rolled over the southbound side of the freeway into the opposite lanes.
The Los Angeles County firefighters arrived at the scene and extracted at least two patients from the wreckage who sustained minor injuries.
In addition, one occupant succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead. Their identity remains undisclosed at this time.
A large portion of the freeway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but has since been reopened. Calabasas Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
