62-Year-Old Man Dies and 33-Year-Old DUI Driver Arrested in Crash near Locust Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (January 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, 33-year-old David Grace was arrested after killing a male pedestrian in a DUI crash.

The crash happened on December 31st, at around 5:20 p.m. near the 300 block of Market Street.

According to reports, a 62-year-old man and his daughter were pushing a 1991 Dodge van out of the street when Grace, in a 2013 Lexus struck them. Officials state that Grace was traveling at high speed at the time of the incident.

Afterward, responding officials transported the 62-year-old man to a nearby hospital where he later died. His daughter did not suffer any injuries.

Meanwhile, police arrested Grace on DUI charges. Additionally, crews blocked Market Street between Elm Avenue and Linden Avenue for further investigation.
