Several Casualties Reported in Multi-Vehicle Collision near Potrero Grande Drive

MONTEREY, CA (December 16, 2022) – A multi-vehicle crash on Market Place Drive left two people killed, and hospitalized several others. 

The fatal collision occurred around 3 p.m. near  Potrero Grande Drive in Monterey Park, according to initial reports. 

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash and the identities of the involved parties remain unavailable. 

Unfortunately, two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Responding rescue personnel located at least six people injured and transported five of them to nearby hospitals for further treatment. 

In addition, three other people who refused medical transport were treated at the scene.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. 

No further details regarding the Market Place Drive multi-vehicle crash have been released to the public. Los Angeles County Officials will provide more information once available.
