Woman Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Edgemoor Street [Poway, CA]
69-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Midland Road
POWAY, CA (December 7, 2022) – Saturday morning, a 69-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Edgemoor Street.
Police responded to the scene just after 9:00 a.m., near the intersection of Midland Road and Edgemoor Street on December 3rd.
Per reports, the driver of a westbound Ford Ranger pickup-truck failed to yield the right of way to a pedestrian as he attempted to turn left onto Midland from Edgemoor Street. As a result, he struck the woman who was walking her dog inside a marked crosswalk on Midland Road.
Medical personnel transported the woman to Palomar Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. Moreover, her dog was not injured in the crash.
Furthermore, the 35-year-old male driver told police that he was not able to see the pedestrian and her dogs at the time.
Following preliminary duties, police do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of the deceased woman.
