One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident on State Route 49 [Jackson, CA]
19-Year-Old Killed in Pedestrian-Auto Collision on Scottsville Boulevard
JACKSON, CA (November 17, 2022) – Saturday evening, a man died in a pedestrian accident on State Route 49, police said.
Officers responded to the crash around 10:35 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 49 and Scottsville Boulevard.
Upon arrival, units discovered an unresponsive male lying in the southbound lane of Highway 49.
Tragically, the 19-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. However, his name has not remained undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.
It was unclear whether the driver remained at the site of the incident and cooperated with the authorities.
Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
