Driver Arrested Following Fatal DUI Accident near West Drive

NEVADA COUNTY, CA (November 15, 2022) – Thursday night, police arrested Ryan Milligan after a DUI accident on Rough and Ready Highway. 

The incident happened at around 10:00 p.m. near West Drive in an unincorporated area of Nevada County. 

According to reports, Milligan was driving a pickup truck along Rough and Ready Highway when it struck a motorcyclist. The impact of the collision caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle. Milligan then lost control of the truck and it crashed into the living room of an unoccupied home.

First responders arrived shortly after and airlifted the 41-year-old rider to a local hospital for treatment. At the hospital, the motorcyclist succumbed to his wounds.

Meanwhile, officers arrested the pickup truck driver, Ryan Milligan, for DUI and booked him in Nevada County Jail.
