Pedestrian and Motorcyclist Injured in DUI Collision on Garnet Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Two Hospitalized after DUI Crash near Everts Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 9, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian and a motorcyclist were injured in a DUI collision on Garnet Avenue.
The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m., October 30th, along 1100 Garnet Avenue near Everts Street.
As per reports, a man was walking northbound on Garnet when a 30-year-old motorcyclist struck him. Responding medics rushed the 21-year-old male pedestrian to UCSD Hospital with injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Scripps Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
At this time, officials have not released the names of any the involved parties, pending notification of next of kin. A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
The CHP stated that it is certain that drug or alcohol is a factor in the incident, however, an active investigation is underway.
