Motorcycle-Auto Collision on Highway 198 Left One Rider Dead
VISALIA, CA (November 7, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, police responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 198 that left one person dead, and injured another two.
The incident happened on November 2nd at around 4:30 p.m., involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
According to police, the motorcycle was traveling at high rate of speed in the first and second lanes, while the SUV was in the first lane.
Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 198 when the motorcycle rear-ended the SUV causing the two occupants to be ejected. The SUV then struck a guard railing, police added.
Furthermore, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger and the SUV driver was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Police have not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The events leading up to the crash are still under investigation at this time.
