18-Year-Old Man Dies in Bus Collision near East Reed Street

SAN JOSE, CA (October 24, 2022) – Friday morning, Camdan McWright was fatally struck in an electric scooter crash on South 10th Street.

The incident occurred around 6:51 a.m., near Reed Street on October 14th. Dispatchers responded to the scene near San Jose State University shortly after.

According to reports, a school bus with 14 occupants was traveling through an intersection when it collided with McWright, who was riding an electric scooter.

The impact of the crash left McWright with serious injuries. Emergency crews arrived shortly after and declared 18-year-old Camdan McWright dead at the scene.

Following the crash, the bus driver pulled over and cooperated with authorities. Meanwhile, the students on the bus were transferred to another bus and taken to school.
