Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle near 223rd Street
GARDENA, CA (October 21, 2022) – Wednesday evening, a pedestrian crash on Normandie Avenue claimed the life of Abel Sosa.
The deadly collision happened at 7:11 p.m. near 223rd Street in Gardena, per initial reports.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a vehicle on Harbor Gateway struck a pedestrian for reasons currently unknown. The pedestrian was then struck by another vehicle. Both drivers of the involved vehicles left the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Following the collisions, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Los Angeles Coroners office later identified the deceased man as Abel Sosa. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been set up to support the Sosa’s surviving family members.
