83-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Hit-and-Run near North Tully Road
TURLOCK, CA (October 19, 2022) – 83-year-old Santiago Estrada-Gonzalez lost his life Tuesday after a pedestrian hit-and-run on Fulkerth Road.
The accident occurred around 3:31 p.m., along the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road near North Tully Road on October 11th.
According to initial reports, the pedestrian was in the roadway when a 2004 Acura TL struck him for unknown reasons.
Responding officials arrived and pronounced Estrada-Gonzalez dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene but surrendered to the police after a few days. The suspect driver, 25-year-old Armando Michael Arreola, told the police that his vehicle was in the 600 block of East Coolidge Avenue in Modesto.
Authorities eventually arrested Arreola for manslaughter and felony hit-and-run charges. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on a $25,000 bail.
Furthermore, police temporarily shut down the area surrounding Fulkerth Road to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
