2 Killed, 5 Injured in Wrong-Way Collision near McCombs Avenue

WASCO, CA (October 19, 2022) – Early Monday morning, Alfredo Caal and Hugo Tiul were killed in a head-on crash on Corcoran Road.

The collision occurred around 6:40 a.m., about five miles north of McCombs Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of a black Infiniti crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a silver Kia Spectra.

Responding medical personnel located five people suffering from injuries. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, two occupants from inside the Kia were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kern County Coroner’s office later identified the deceased victims as 25-year-old Alfredo Caal and Hugo Tiul from Los Hills.

At this time, further circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
