2 Hurt in Single-Car Accident near Hilltop Drive
REDDING, CA (October 6, 2022) – Saturday night, a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 44 left Matthew Detrant and Colton Brown with serious injuries.
The incident occurred around 7:35 p.m., near Hilltop Drive.
According to reports, the driver made an unsafe turn, sending the vehicle down a grass embankment. The car then came to a stop after slamming into a tree.
Paramedics transported the driver, 22-year-old Detrant, to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. His passenger, identified as 22-year-old Brown from Anderson, was transported to the same hospital.
California Highway Patrol officers say intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the incident.
