Man Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision on Highway 101 [Greenfield, CA]
Man Killed in Pursuit Collision near Underwood Road
GREENFIELD, CA (October 3, 2022) – Thursday afternoon, a head-on collision on Highway 101 claimed the life of one man.
The collision happened around 3:54 p.m., near Underwood Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were chasing a white Prius at the time for reasons unspecified.
During the pursuit, the Prius collided head-on with a semi-truck.
Furthermore, responding personnel discovered the sedan torn into two and declared a driver dead at the scene. Although, their identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since been reopened.
No further details regarding the Highway 101 head-on collision have been released to the public; however, Greenfield Officials will provide more information once available.
